William Larson

William grew up on a farm in rural Central Texas . At an early age he developed an interest in drawing. He first drew dinosaurs, then moved to animals, then to western themes. When he was eleven years old, he began taking painting lessons from Mrs. Gayle Lipps, a local art teacher. He continued with art classes through high school. William received an Associate’s Degree in Drafting & Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from the University of Texas . While at the University he began attending workshops at the Cowboy Artist’s Museum in Kerrville , Tx . William has benefitted from the personal instruction of other artists including Debob Jacobs, Robert Pummill , Roy Anderson, Bruce Greene, Martin Greille, and Ron Riddick, Jerral Derryberry, Matt Smith, and John Budicin. William is a member of the Outdoor Painter’s Society, American Plains Artists, and the American Impressionist’s Society.
